About Me
Hi! I'm AlexĀ
Since 2017, I've fallen in love with understanding canine behavior and body language, a passion that has only grown stronger over the years. As a guardian to a reactive dog, my motivation to assist others in similar situations has been fortified. Outcast Academy was conceived with the aim of supporting dog owners who have felt isolated or embarrassed due to their dog's behavior. Here, I share insights on how to manage life with your reactive, fearful, or aggressive dog.
With seven years of experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician and four years as a force-free dog trainer, my objective has always been to merge force-free, evidence-based training techniques with a veterinary medicine perspective. I hold a special affection for dogs whose medical charts bear labels like "Caution", "Muzzle", or "Will Bite". I was driven by the belief that there must be a more compassionate way to care for these animals, often deemed difficult.
I've observed that many dogs struggling at the vet also have intense reactions to other aspects of their daily lives. My approach to cooperative care and reactivity aims to reassure you that there is indeed a light at the end of the tunnel. You won't have to feel like an outcast forever, unless, of course, you begin to find comfort in it, as I did.
In an industry that is largely unregulated, finding a trainer with continuous education and the right credentials is crucial. At Outcast Academy, we prioritize ongoing learning to ensure we are always equipped with the latest techniques and methodologies.
I'm delighted that you're here!"
